Grilled Corn on the Cob with Butter and Ketchup

For this grilled corn on the cob, you can use either the frozen corn cobettes or fresh corn with the husks. For the frozen one, you don’t need to thaw. You can just put it directly to the grill, coated with the butter-and-ketchup sauce mixture and grilled for about, at least, 10 minutes or until it is charred all over.

For the corn with the husks, start by soaking the corn in cold water at least 30 minutes to an hour. This is to add moisture, soften the husk and ensure that the husk would not be ‘burned’.  Then, you can basically grill the corn with the husks. However, you need to remove some of the husks and remove as much silks as you can. Then, coat the corn kernels with the butter-and-ketchup sauce, cover the husks back and grill it. Again, for grilling corn, grill at least for 10 minutes or until it is charred all over.

Tools I used:

  • Stove-top grill – Non-stick stove-top grill for any kind of quick grilling, especially useful in wintertime as I do not feel like grilling outside in the cold. Evenly heated, easy cleaning, easy to flip/stir and very durable.

Tip: To pull the silk from the corn,it is easier if you use dry paper towel or clean kitchen cloth
