Super Easy 5-ingredient Sweet and Savory Pork Chop

This is probably the easiest and simplest Sweet and Savory Pork Chop recipe that I ever made. For sure, I will make this many many more times in the future as it is also very delicious and everyone in the family loves it.

Super Easy Sweet and Savory Pork Chop

The meat is very tender and juicy. Flavor-wise, it has a balance flavor of sweet and savory although it is only using very little ingredients, only 5 ingredients and you are all set. You can also marinate the pork chop first, refrigerate in the bag, and instead of pan-fry it, you can freeze it for a week or two before you actually cook it. The frozen pork chop will come in handy for those busy moments or just when you ran out of idea of what to cook. This recipe has been a ‘life saver’ for me during the time when we are in the process of packing. Ever since that time, I always make sure that I have some frozen marinated pork chops in my freezer.

You can serve the sweet and savory pork chops with anything you like. I like to serve it with rice (that’s my staple food) and pour Sriracha sauce on top of it – like what you see in the picture below. Mashed potato or any grilled veggie can be another option. Basically, it is a type of dish where you can mix and match.

Anyhow, without further ado, let’s get cooking, shall we?

Tip: Do not flip often. It’s better to have one side cook well, and then, flip. This way, it will retain most of the juice of the meat. In other words, the meat will be juicy. Yum!

  1. Rub all area of the pork chop with pepper and sweet soy sauce.
  2. In a large plastic zipper bag, put the pork chop and pour the soy sauce over. Make sure that the soy sauce cover the meat well. Marinate and refrigerate the bag for at least 6 hours.
  3. Preheat a frying pan in a medium-high heat. It’s not necessary to put any oil if using a nonstick pan. Place the marinated pork chop onto the heated pan. Remove any excess marinade. Cook about 3 to 7 minutes per side, depending how thick the meat is.
